PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The 2024 Western Region Health Coalition Emergency Management Seminar will provide participants with relevant information and best practice suggestions to better prepare for, manage and recover from Hazardous Material events.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Based on presentations, participants will be able to:

  • Identify ways in which hospitals, EMS, public health and emergency management can prepare for, respond to and recover from a hazmat event in the community
  • Learn about the state and federal resources that are available for deployment and use during a chemical incident
  • Describe effective methods utilized by agencies and hospitals to respond to hazmat incidents
  • Review best practices to provide support to staff after an event

TARGET AUDIENCE

Hospitals, EMS, public health, emergency managers and other healthcare/first response agencies who may play a role in a disaster that affects the health delivery system in the community
