The Flaum Eye Institute Refractive Surgery Center team is comprised of a dedicated group of physicians, patient care technicians and educators, scientists and optical engineers who are focused solely on improving the safety and quality of laser vision correction. This dedicated group of professionals includes The University of Rochester Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology, the University’s Center for Visual Science and Bausch & Lomb—together forming the Alliance for Vision Excellence.
Flaum Eye Institute Refractive Surgery Center is the clinical division of the Alliance for Vision Excellence—providing patients with the most advanced diagnostic tools and surgical equipment to ensure optimum results. Our surgeon, Dr. Scott MacRae, along with our patient care staff are among the world's experts in the development and use of the latest technology and techniques in laser vision correction. The American Academy of Ophthalmology awarded Dr. Scott MacRae the prestigious Lans Award at the 2003 American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting.

Having trained hundreds of physicians in refractive surgery, and handling complicated cases for other doctors, Dr. Scott MacRae, Dr. Kenneth Dickerson, and the Flaum Eye Institute Refractive Surgery Center team lead the region in LASIK and refractive surgery technology.

Focused solely on laser vision correction, our Patient Care Staff are committed to providing you with safe and honest answers when evaluating your vision. After your evaluation, they will be with you every step of the way, from your day of surgery through all of your post-operative visits. They take pride in getting to know their patients and being there for them whenever necessary.
Our technical and patient education staff are the best you'll find. Our ophthalmic technicians are all highly trained and certified with over 30 years of eye care experience between them.
