Patient Services and Information
The Flaum Eye is the region’s most comprehensive resource for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease. Our dedicated team of subspecialists include some of the most noted clinicians in their fields of expertise. We gladly treat the most routine conditions as well as provide care for the most complex of diseases. All of these services are available under one roof at the University of Rochester Medical Center, allowing for a unique multidisciplinary approach to patient care. We also have a growing network of satellite locations many of them providing sub-specialty care
Our main facility includes our own ambulatory surgery center located on the second floor of Strong Memorial Hospital, just below the Eye Institute’s faculty practice clinic. In addition, we provide surgical services at Sawgrass Ambulatory Surgery Center, Geneva Surgery Center, Strong West Surgery Center, and Noyes Ambulatory Surgery Center. Equipped with the region’s most up-to-date surgical equipment, we perform routine as well as complex procedures that were once referred to eye care centers hundreds of miles away, saving you time and keeping you close to home.
We also have access to the most extensive collection of diagnostic equipment that is second to none in the region and throughout the nation. In some cases, patients needing specialized imaging may be referred to our translational research enterprise. Here our scientists and clinicians are constantly developing new instrumentation that may be the first of its kind. All is available to ensure the most thorough and accurate diagnosis.
All our locations – including our main facility at Strong Memorial Hospital - feature soothing and inviting environments unique to most academic medical practices. From free curbside parking to our patient education and waiting nooks, to our friendly optical shops, and warm staff, we’re designed from the ground up to make your visit with us a pleasant one.
