Conditions We Treat

The UR Medicine Virtual Mental Health Urgent Care is available to those who may be coping with mental health concerns, such as a panic or anxiety attack, but who do not feel the need to visit our Psychiatric Emergency Department or Brighter Days Pediatric Mental Health Urgent Care Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

If you’re experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may be having a crisis:

  • Inability to perform daily tasks such as bathing or getting dressed.
  • Rapid mood swings: feeling suddenly very happy or very depressed.
  • Paranoia: feeling suspicious and distrustful of other people.
  • Isolation: avoiding friends and family, staying home from work or school.
  • Psychosis: loss of touch with reality, having strange ideas, hearing voices.

Fill out your information and symptoms from a phone, tablet or computer and one of our providers will join the call, discuss your symptoms, provide a treatment plan, and prescribe any needed medications.

To get started, click the link above and enter your information and symptoms into our Virtual Urgent Care platform. You can do this using a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.

Once you’ve filled out your information, you’ll enter a waiting room while we identify the best UR Medicine Mental Health Clinician available. The Clinician will join the video visit, discuss your symptoms with you and provide intervention.

Virtual Mental Health Urgent Care is available Monday through Friday from 12 p.m.–7 p.m. Virtual Urgent Care is not available outside of the scheduled hours or if wait times are greater than 2 hours.

Anyone over the age of 5 living in New York State can use Virtual Mental Health Urgent Care.

Please Note: If you are seeking care for your Worker’s Compensation, Motor Vehicle, or Veteran’s Association concerns, please contact your Primary Care Provider’s office.

Virtual Urgent care will be billed through your insurance, and, if applicable, maybe be subject to a co-payment or deductible.
