Pryhuber Research Lab

Pryhuber Lab Team MembersPremature birth is a major health concern in the United States. Preterm infants are at a high risk of developing lung disease, such as Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD). These children often develop inflammatory lung disease and face an increased risk of being hospitalized due to respiratory infections in the first year of life as well as an increase in respiratory disease such as asthma.

The overall aim of the Pryhuber lab group is to identify biomarkers in these preterm infants that could be used to assess clinical respiratory outcome. Dr. Pryhuber currently holds projects on two large-scale research studies; the Prematurity and Respiratory Outcomes Program (NHLBI) and the Respiratory Pathogen Research Program (NIAID).

Dr. Pryhuber is a faculty member in the Division of Neonatology of Golisano Children's Hospital and is also a member of the Environmental Health Sciences Center.
