The NCDHR utilizes the “Deaf to Deaf” communication approach in our research and programs. This project provides information in American Sign Language (ASL) to Deaf communities, from our Deaf staff and team.
The Deaf2 HIV Video Testing Line logo was designed by former staff member, Erika de la Puente. The logo itself is based on the American Sign Language (ASL) sign for "Video Phone." Deaf people heavily rely on VideoPhone (VP) or face-to-face calls. The color red was used to represent universal awareness and
support people living with HIV/AIDS.
