The Translational Pain Research Program conducts leading edge clinical research across the spectrum of acute, peri-operative, and chronic pain conditions. The team includes a physician clinical investigator, nurses, study coordinators, biostatisticians, basic science collaborators, postdoctoral fellows and university trainees. The program draws on the resources of the university to conduct investigator- initiated research designed to address key roadblocks to the development of new pain relievers and conducts Phase I – IV clinical studies in collaboration with industry partners. Our goal is to improve the care of patients with pain through the comparative study of currently-available analgesics and the development of novel therapies.
