We are the largest, most comprehensive orthopaedic practice in the Rochester, NY nine-county region. Our physicians cover every subspecialty of orthopaedics and physical rehabilitation and work hand-in-hand to address each patient's unique needs. Treatments range from conservative medical management to complex surgery.
We have emerged as a leader in medical excellence by being the first in the region to learn, and use, many of the most promising new procedures and equipment. Our clinical programs give those with even the most complex medical conditions reason for hope.

Education & Research
The University of Rochester School of Medicine is the first institution in the nation to be awarded full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for six years. We maintain a GME rating of A+. At URMC Orthopaedics & Physical Performance, we treat more than 160,000 patients each year. Because our clinical practice comprises all twelve subspecialties of orthopaedics and physiatry, we offer both a depth and breadth of training opportunities.
The Department of Orthopaedics at URMC is an excellent choice for both residents and fellows to further their education. Many of our faculty are nationally and internationally known in their fields. We are an academic medical center noted for our commitment to research and are one of twelve institutions nationally to be part of a recent NIH grant for translational research.
Residency
Since inception, the department has been responsible for orthopaedic education for 14 Chairs throughout academic health centers

The Department of Orthopaedics offers comprehensive training through ACGME Accredited and department-based fellowships.

The Center for Musculoskeletal Research is comprised of highly integrated faculty and trainees from a variety of departments.
