Our Mission
Our mission is to treat and cure children with cancer and blood diseases by understanding their special needs and providing them with comprehensive, compassionate care from diagnosis through recovery. Our hospital environment is designed to provide these services with maximum convenience. Patients can see their doctor for an office visit, have tests performed and receive treatment (including chemotherapy and blood transfusions) all in the same location.
Schedule an Appointment
Call us if your child has an immediate cancer issue. Your child will be seen by a board certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist. We will see them within 24 hours. For blood disease issues, we will see them within a week.
To schedule an appointment, call (585) 275-2981 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours and during emergencies, calls are transferred to a physician on call.
Prevention and Treatment
We also strive to improve the prevention and treatment of childhood cancers as well as the management of long-term complications of therapy through clinical and laboratory research. We are developing clinical research programs for stem cell transplantation including regimens for malignant and nonmalignant disorders such as sickle cell disease and immune deficiencies.
Our Team
Our team includes skilled physicians and advanced practice nurses who are dedicated to caring for the physical and emotional needs of children and their families. In addition to these professionals, children, and families at Golisano Children's Hospital have the benefit of a full range of support services and staff to guide them through many of the social, emotional and financial issues that come with illness. Additional services are provided by Pediatric Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat), and Pediatric Radiation Oncology.
