Chemically-Induced Bronchiolitis Obliterans
Bronchiolitis obliterans (BO) is a fibrotic lung disease characterized by progressive luminal narrowing and obliteration of the small airways, or bronchioles. BO occurs commonly after lung transplantation with nearly 50% of all lung transplant recipients affected by BO at 5 years post-transplant. It is also the leading cause of mortality at 1 and 5 years post-lung transplantation for both children and adults.
