Medical Education Research
There is a tendency for those of us in academic medicine to separate research from education. But, like almost everything else, the best educational techniques and strategies are evidence-based. And how best to accumulate and evaluate a body of evidence than through research? Education has been the subject of research in the Department of Pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Rochester Medical Center for as long as the department has existed! With the help of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry’s Dean’s Teaching Fellowship and several national initiatives, we have pushed away boundaries and barriers and fostered innovation and development of the next generation of medical education researchers.
