Dr. Rashmi Jasrasaria is an Assistant Professor of General Medicine and Community Health. She graduated from Harvard College and received her M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed training in internal medicine primary care at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she subsequently served as Chief Resident from 2020-2021. Prior to joining URMC, Dr. Jasrasaria was a primary care physician at MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center, one of the founding directors of the MGH Center for Immigrant Health, an Ambulatory Core Educator in the MGH Internal Medicine Residency Program, and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. In Boston, Dr. Jasrasaria led several hospital and community-based initiatives to improve health equity, especially by promoting linguistic and cultural-concordance in healthcare delivery and expanding access to community health workers, medical legal partnerships, mental health services, and lifestyle/ culinary medicine. She also worked to develop a framework for incorporating health equity into the residency core curriculum. Dr. Jasrasaria speaks English, Spanish, and Marwari (a dialect of Hindi), and in addition to serving as a primary care physician at Strong Internal Medicine, she is a member of the Community Partnerships team at the URMC Center for Community Health and Prevention, assisting in community outreach and engagement projects amongst the Hispanic and immigrant/ refugee communities.

In her clinical approach, Dr. Jasrasaria aims to partner with patients to help them become the best versions of themselves, meet them where they are at, practice active listening and shared decision-making, and work with patients, families, communities, and our expert interdisciplinary team of colleagues to address health-harming social needs.

Dr. Jasrasaria enjoys traveling, being outdoors, singing, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
