Emily Hermann has worked at the University of Rochester Medical Center since 2011. She started her career as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Newborn Nursey and has worked as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Orthopaedics since 2014. Her current dual inpatient/outpatient NP role includes providing pre- and postoperative care to pediatric patients of all ages who have had orthopaedic surgical procedures to treat conditions including scoliosis, leg length discrepancy, and hip dysplasia. Outpatient clinic role involves assessment of pediatric patients in collaboration with physicians to develop treatment plans that will provide the greatest benefit for the patient and his/her family. Additional opportunities include exposure to new and innovative technology for pediatric orthopaedic conditions and the ability to provide care in outreach clinics in greater New York State.

Emily is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and regularly attends local events. She also attends multiple local and national pediatric and orthopaedic conferences. She is involved in NP student preceptorship for both the University of Rochester School of Nursing and St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing.
