From Struggle to Strength: Empowering Stories of Resilience and Healing

Video: High school star athlete Erik Barr, suffered a devastating knee injury while playing football for West Irondequoit High School. Working with Dr. Maloney and the athletic trainers from UR Medicine’s Fitness Science Program, Erik was able to get back on the field and do what he loves – playing football.

Video: Local restaurant owner and avid biker and golfer, Kevin Clar, worked with Dr. Peter O’Bourn and the orthopaedics team to help prevent hip surgery. Learn how an active lifestyle can help with overall pain management and mobility.

Video: Kristina was a marathon runner and active mom running after her kids when she ruptured her Achilles tendon. Working with Dr. Sam Flemister Kristina was able to rehab her injury non-surgically with the use of a new technology called “Alter G” an anti-gravity treadmill that allows patients to be active in physical therapy without putting weight on the foot or ankle.
