Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) Clinic

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare condition affecting women, with typical onset early in adulthood but often with delayed diagnosis. It is characterized by cyst formation in the lungs and often causes shortness of breath, cough, and even lung collapse (pneumothorax).

The University of Rochester is proud to host a regional LAM clinic staffed by experts in the diagnosis and management of the disease, as well as those active in local, national, and international research efforts to better understand and treat this complicated condition. The UR Medicine LAM Clinic, located at the Mary Parkes Center, is the only one of its kind in Western New York but is privileged to collaborate with the larger national network of centers specializing in LAM.
