Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic

The University of Rochester Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic is an accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Association Center of Comprehensive Care (awarded in 2016). We are the only practice in New York state outside of New York City with this distinction.

Dr. Jim White reviews case of pulmonary hypertensionWe evaluate and manage a wide variety of diseases including pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), heart failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), COPD pulmonary hypertension (COPD-PH), chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), pulmonary embolus, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, and digital ulcers (usually from scleroderma). We work collaboratively with cardiology, radiology, rheumatology, orthopedic surgery, and the referring provider to obtain the best testing and treatment regiments; we work hard to keep local physicians involved and limit travel as much as possible. We provide treatment alternatives, personalized care, risk assessments, opportunities for clinical research, and collaborations with other accredited centers (especially for CTEPH).

The URMC Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic welcomes any type of pulmonary vascular disease for primary management or those seeking a second opinion about diagnosis or disease management. We are heavily involved in a wide variety of clinical trials and research.
