Join us in saying thanks to all of our volunteers—especially those who were recently recognized for their selfless commitment to our community. Some 1,300 volunteers have collectively given approximately 141,000 hours of their time serving our patients, families and guests over the past year.
New ‘Light Up Strong’ Initiative Shows Our Support for Patients, Families
Many illnesses today are known by name, and also by color. That's just one reason Strong Memorial Hospital—thanks to the generosity of Friends of Strong—is now going red, blue, green or gold, depending on the observance. Splashes of color outside SMH now greet patients, families and guests when they arrive—creating a friendly and welcoming environment while also raising awareness of the illnesses we research and treat here at URMC.
