Nurse Training
Wilmot collaborates with the University of Rochester School of Nursing to provide advanced and continuing education for oncology nurses. The following are the programs offered:
- Highland Hospital Nurse Residency Program: Highland Hospital is home to Rochester’s first and only ANCC Practice Transitions Accredited Program (PTAP). The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) offers an unparalleled transition to your professional career. This evidence-based program meets national and state safety, quality, and professional standards. Students participate in monthly 8-hour classroom sessions during the one-year program to develop numerous nursing and professional skills.
- The Rochester Oncology Nursing Research Group (ROC ON): ROC ON seeks to improve care for people living with cancer across the lifespan. Central to this goal is addressing the growing inequities in cancer care. We are committed to conducting inclusive research with diverse groups in various areas, including preventive care for people with high-risk factors, symptom science, intervention development, and palliative and end-of-life care.
