NCI Designation and Acknowledging the CCSG

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has designated the University of Rochester's Wilmot Cancer Institute as the nation’s 73rd cancer center.  Communicating the outcomes of NIH-funded projects and the role of NIH support in biomedical research enhances public understanding of how we, as a research community, are working to improve human health.  To properly acknowledge the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) in your work which utilized the Shared Resources since March 15th, 2025, please include the following statement in the acknowledgement section of your publication(s):

“The work described in this publication benefited from the support of the Human Biophysiology Shared Resource at the Wilmot Cancer Institute, supported in part by the University of Rochester Wilmot Cancer Institute Support Grant #P30CA272302. The content is solely the responsibility of the authors and does not necessarily represent the official views of the National Institutes of Health."

Importantly, Wilmot members should use our CCSG Shared Resource terminology to acknowledge the cores in publications, presentations, and grants.  Therefore,

  • Instead of Cancer Control & Psychoneuroimmunology Laboratory (CCPL), use Human Biophysiology Shared Resource.
  • Instead of PEAK/Human Performance Science Clinical Research Lab, use Human Biophysiology Shared Resource.
