Visual Supports
Visual Supports
Many children and adults with special needs have a hard time with medical visits. The use of visual supports can help. They show a step by step sequence of events.
Our social stories and visual supports can be used before and during the visit. Before the visit, they can be used to help a person prepare. During the visit, they can help explain the sequence of events and help a person feel more secure. This may reduce anxiety and behavior problems.
Unless otherwise specified, our stories use PECS symbols.
