Pediatric Transport Program
Bringing Golisano Children’s Hospital To You
How can critically ill or injured children get to our hospital — quickly and safely? With the help of the Golisano Children’s Hospital Critical Care Transport Program.
This program provides transport services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our team is experienced in the resuscitation, stabilization and transfer of pediatric patients through 18 years of age.
Serving Upstate New York, we are helping ensure that children can get the excellent critical care services they need.

The Critical Care Transport Team
The team includes a pediatric transport nurse, a pediatric transport respiratory therapist, a paramedic, and when necessary, a pediatric critical care physician.
The team manages critically ill children with a wide range of conditions, including respiratory failure, shock, cardiac disease and neurologic conditions. With advanced skills — such as airway management, ECMO, CRRT, high flow nasal cannula, invasive monitoring, and arterial and venous access — they provide ongoing care to patients throughout the transfer process while under the close supervision of a pediatric critical care physician.

Pediatric Ambulances
New state-of-the-art ambulances will allow faster transfer of newborns and children from other facilities with high-tech equipment geared for the smallest patients.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the major support of our community that has been ongoing since day one,” Brophy said. “A huge, heartfelt thank you to Maureen and Mark Davitt for their incredible generosity and contribution.”
