Preceptorships Open Many Doors! Here’s what former Preceptees said about the experience:
Moustafa Youssef traveled from Egypt to participate in a Preceptorship. "I was surprised at the level of teamwork and the preceptee experience fueled by my desire to get into the program even more," he said. "I promised myself I would not lose this opportunity to be one of Dr. Malmstrom's student."
Vinisha Ranna, B.D.S., D.D.S.
Eleven-month General Dentistry Preceptee, 2016
The experience was great! The faculty were friendly and extremely helpful. I found the didactic courses especially informative. The materials taught were always up-to-date and evidence based. I greatly appreciated that I could participate in all the conferences and hands-on courses that were organized for the residents.
While I was observing and assisting, the program gave me an incredible opportunity to conduct research. My understanding and application of dental research was significantly augmented during the course. I am excited to analyze the results of a study on dental problems in recreational SCUBA divers I conducted while at Eastman. I was amazed at the excellent assistance system there is in place, with the librarians, program secretaries, and auxiliary personnel. The study was conducted online and was even featured in British Dental Journal.
I am currently a resident in the 6-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. The preceptorship program enabled me to contribute towards research and helped me reach my goal of training as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I am grateful to have had the incredible opportunity to be preceptee at Eastman.”
