Urgent Eye Care Services

Many common but serious eye emergencies can be managed outside of the Emergency Room

Common eye emergencies include:

  • Severe Eye Pain
  • Trauma
  • Sudden Vision Loss
  • Eye Infections
  • New Onset of Flashers or Floaters
  • Foreign Bodies
  • Severe Red Eye
     

During the hours of 8am to 4pm, Monday-Friday, we offer same-day appointments for emergency eye care in our Urgent Eye Care, located within the Flaum Eye Institute's Strong Memorial Hospital location.  Just call 585-273-3937.  Our staff will collect some basic information regarding your concerns and help you schedule an appointment.  At this time, we do not offer walk-in services.

After hours, or during the weekend, there is an ophthalmologist on-call who is available to help with urgent ophthalmic issues.  Just call 585-273-3937. You will be directed to our answering service who will then connect you with our on-call physician. Based on the nature of your concerns, you may be asked to go to the Strong Memorial Hospital Emergency Department to have a full eye exam with the on-call physician.

For any urgent ophthalmic concerns, please reach out to us: 585-273-3937.  We can assist with scheduling patients in the Urgent Eye Care (during normal business hours), or after hours/weekends, help direct patients to the Emergency Room for further care.
