The Department of Family Medicine is committed to improving the health of underserved populations both in the U.S. and abroad. To fulfill this mission, the practice has a year-round program to help the people of San Jose San Marcos de la Sierra, a rural community in Honduras.
In San Jose San Marcos de la Sierra the need is real. The community identifies the following greatest areas of need:
- Lack of water
- Inadequate nutrition
- Limited/no education
- Limited/no access to health care
- Poverty
The global health program not only survives but thrives off of the generosity of donors like you. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. 100% of your donation will go to the global health program at the University of Rochester's Department of Family Medicine.
