Medical Student Education
Thank you for your interest in finding out more about Family Medicine teaching for medical students. Rochester’s students are taught by Family Medicine faculty within the formal required curriculum in years 1 and 2. There is a required 4 week FM Clerkship in year 3 or 4 and students can participate in both inpatient and outpatient electives with us. We also welcome visiting students to plan electives in Rochester. Through these experiences, students benefit from teaching and mentorship from community and academic family physicians engaged in patient care, teaching and research. Our highly ranked residency and fellowship programs provide additional didactic teaching opportunities and insight into careers in Family Medicine. Please read on, explore the site, and contact us if you have questions or would like to know more.
