- Allegany County Cancer Services has expanded the availability of its financial services to include ALL people in Allegany County who presently dealing with issues related to cancer—regardless of income. Please call the Allegany County Cancer Services office at (585) 593-2533 if you would like an application or have any questions.
- The Allegany/Cattaraugus Counties Cancer Services Program provides FREE cancer screenings for the uninsured and those who cannot pay for these services. Find out if you are eligible for a free mammogram, cervical or colorectal screening, by calling the CSP of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties at 1-866-442-2262.
- The Allegany County Crisis Hotline ((888) 448.3367 provides confidential crisis intervention and referral services to individuals experiencing a mental health emergency.
- The Southern Tier Health Caregiver Navigation Program is a non-profit organization that serves Chautauqua, Allegany, and Cattaraugus counties. This free service can help individuals identify services and resources that they may need, including home health aids, medical supplies, legal services, transportation, and so much more. - If you take any medications on a regular basis, it is important to carry a list of them and the dosage amounts with you at all times. This is vital information to have when you go to an appointment with your doctor or when you need to go to the Emergency Room. We offer a universal medication form that will help you keep track of your medications!
- Proper disposal of household medical sharps, including used needles, syringes and lancets, decreases the risk of injury and blood borne diseases to sanitation workers and others who may come in contact with them. Put your sharps in a puncture proof container with a screw top lid and put your name and address on the container. You may then drop them off at any of the Jones Memorial Medical Practices.
- The mission of the Allegany County Department of Health is to educate, motivate and enable Allegany County residents to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles.
- Allegany County Department of Health Health Education Division provides outreach education programs to large and small groups on a variety of health topics.
- The Allegany County Office for the Aging provides expert information and assistance to older individuals and their caregivers to maintain dignity, respect and independence. There are more than 9,000 people 60 years of age and over in Allegany County.
- The Allegany County Department of Social Services Department is dedicated to preserving the family unit, protecting the individual, encouraging and sustaining self-sufficiency while enabling people to achieve their full potential for a higher quality of life.
- The Ardent Solutions is made up of representatives of the community and area providers whose focus is on health, accountability and the seamless continuum of quality care to the residents of Allegany and Western Steuben counties.
- The Southern Tier Health Care System, a three-county rural health network serving Allegany, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties, seeks to improve the wellness of our rural communities.
- The Institute for Human Services sponsors an information and referral services which provides easy access to current information about human services available in Steuben, Allegany and Chemung counties. Called Helpline the comprehensive information and referral services by calling 1-800-346-9604.
