Pediatric Palliative Care Elective

We offer medical students, residents and pediatric subspecialty fellows the opportunity to participate in a pediatric palliative care elective.

The rotation consists of:

One week at Golisano Children’s Hospital (seeing inpatient, perinatal, and outpatient consultations)
One week in the community, making house calls with CompassionNet, our community-based pediatric palliative care partner

The University of Rochester offers a 1-year Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, which has a dedicated pediatric track.

The fellowship is open to graduates of pediatrics, family medicine, or medicine-pediatrics residencies.
Pediatric track fellows participate in 16-18 weeks of pediatrics experience in addition to the excellent core rotations in the adult fellowship program.
