Research
Just as research is essential to improve our understanding of the diseases we treat in children, so, too, is it essential in helping us improve our practice of pediatric palliative care. Much of what we know about treating pain, and about talking to children about their illnesses is based on what adults experience. But children are different, and it is important to study what works and doesn’t work in children and not depend on our experience with adults. We are proud that our pediatric palliative team is active in research, making contributions to our field, and improving the care of the children we serve.
