Neuroscience Internship Program at the University of Rochester
Since 2021 NEUROEAST — a Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience Diversity Commission program — has been offering Rochester City School District (RCSD) high school students first-hand experience in University of Rochester neuroscience research labs. Students learn how scientific is conducted, are mentored on navigating education and training necessary to pursue a career in research, and receive a stipend for their involvement.
NEUROEAST embodies the Neuroscience Diversity Commission mission — creating opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore and experience the field of neuroscience, and to guide interested them into the research field.
NEUROEAST is funded by a generous grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
NEUROEAST Recognized with Community Health Improvement Team Award
The 15th annual Dr. David Satcher Community Health Improvement Awards celebrated University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) faculty and staff , as well as their community partners on 5/31/24, for their dedication to helping people lead healthier lives, and advancing health equity, throughout our region. The Team Award was given to the East-UR Collaborative, which includes the NSDC NeuroEast program.
