First and Second Year Teaching

Rochester medical students receive structured clinical teaching throughout the first two years in classroom didactic sessions, physical exam skills workshops, simulations, and clinical preceptorships. The Primary Care Clerkship in the second year is a required longitudinal experience with primary care physicians caring for pediatric and adult patients. The didactic curriculum covers the basics of prevention, acute care, and chronic disease management for the most common conditions seen in primary care practices. Learn more information about the MD curriculum at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
