Ritchie Teaching Fellowships

The Ritchie Teaching Fellowship award is an endowment from Robert and Helen Ritchie in honor of their longtime physician and friend, Dr. Joseph Flatley. Recipients receive funding for approximately 10% of their FTE to pursue mentored career development as a clinician-educator.

Dr. MacLeod plans to develop a novel curriculum to enhance the Endocrinology elective experience for medical residents.

Dr. Staudt plans to conduct a formal evaluation of the longitudinal point of care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum for medical students.

Dr. Miller implemented a health equity curriculum for cardiology fellows. She also launched a program to support fellows in conducting health equity quality improvement projects for their patients.

Dr. Salib designed a faculty development curriculum to identify and mitigate implicit bias among hospitalist faculty who are supervising residents and medical students. She is conducting a mixed-methods research study to evaluate the curriculum.

Dr. Moore developed a POCUS curriculum for nephrologists following a national needs assessment of POCUS in nephrology training programs.  She then expanded her web based training modules to the internal medicine residency program.

​Dr. Readlynn developed a curriculum to teach 4th-year medical students on their medicine sub-I dual skills in quality improvement and time management. Students completed a PDSA cycle reflecting on a new strategy to improve their time management as they prepared for intern year.
