Welcome to Hematology/Oncology

Craig Mullen, M.D., Ph.D.

Craig A. Mullen, MD, PhD,
Chief

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides full service for all children with cancer, nonmalignant blood diseases, and disorders treated by bone marrow transplantation. The faculty possess clinical expertise that covers the entire breadth of the discipline and include the integration of services within other specialties, within the Children's Hospital and Cancer Center.

Patients have the opportunity to participate in advanced clinical research through the division's participation in the Children's Oncology Group. Novel clinical care is also available to children with sickle cell disease; other research-based services include studies and techniques to enhance parental coping skills. Division faculty play a leading role in the Experimental Hematopoiesis Program of the Cancer Center.

The division conducts teaching rounds for the house staff team caring for the Hematology/Oncology Inpatient Service. Residents and medical students also take electives in the Ambulatory Clinic, where diagnostic and follow-up care is provided, and on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.
