Mental Health & Wellness
Social Workers function in many different clinical settings in the Department of Psychiatry, also known as Mental Health & Wellness. Social Workers are considered an integral part of the treatment team. In outpatient areas Social Workers function as primary therapists and treat a broad array of patients struggling with mental health issues. On the acute services side Social Workers are part of the interdisciplinary treatment team which provides psychiatric, team and care coordination to acutely ill patients.
