Weekend Work 7/15 and 7/16
We're pleased to report that Highland will begin admitting patients to the new tower starting on Monday. A majority of the work on the new space is now complete. Moving forward, updates on Highland Facilities activities on campus will be sent on an as needed basis.
This weekend, a small crane will be on campus for work on an AC project in the loading dock area on the Rockingham side of the hospital. Crews will be onsite from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Sounds will include the voices of construction workers and trucks backing up.
Another small crane will be used on Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to noon in the Mt. Vernon cut out to remove excess roofing material from the south building. Traffic is not expected to be impacted. Flaggers will be onsite to assist with any possible traffic or sidewalk needs.
No Work this Weekend or July 4th
There will be no construction work on the new tower this weekend or on Tuesday, July 4th.
On Monday, crews will possibly be working on the south building roof top coat from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.

Vernon entrance will not be in until late June, but the temporary fence will remain in place until then. Contractors will also be working on the roof over the loading dock on the Rockingham side of the building for the AC replacement project.
Saturday Work 6/24 and Employee Picnic

During the week, crews continue to work on miscellaneous activities inside the building. Outside, there will be minimal work now that the landscaping is complete. The main gate on Mt. Vernon will not be in until late June. The temporary fence will remain in place until then.
Highland will be holding a picnic for employees on top of the main garage on Thursday, 6/29 from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. The first session will include a DJ so some noise can be expected from this event.
Saturday Work 6/17
Crews will be on site on Saturday 6/17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., mostly working inside the building but there could be a few workers on the roof at times.
During the week, work continues mostly inside the building now that the landscaping is complete. The permanent gate on Mt. Vernon will not be in until late June, but the temporary fence will remain in place until that time. Contractors will be working on the south roof over the loading dock for an air conditioning replacement project.
Ribbon Cutting Friday and Small Crane Saturday
Crews will be on site this afternoon to set up a tent for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday. The tent will then be taken down on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, crews will be using a small crane parked in the Mt. Vernon cutout to remove some old equipment off the roof. This work will take place between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Flaggers will be on site for sidewalk traffic. Car traffic should not be impacted by this activity.
After this week, there should be minimal exterior work now that the landscaping is complete. Indoor work continues so some truck noise will still be present.
