Tower Crane Removal Update

Mt. Vernon Ave. is now closed to through traffic with all detours posted. Tower Crane disassembly has begun. Unfortunately, due to the wind speed and the impending snow event on Friday, all tower crane work has been suspended until Monday morning. Constructors will be plowing and salting Mt. Vernon from Rockingham St. to the crane and Doctors Dr./Bellevue Drive to the crane over the weekend.  Safety is our number one priority: for our neighbors, the hospital, and our construction workers.

Once work resumes next week, there will be tractor trailers on Mt. Vernon loading out crane components similar to when the crane was set up.

Site access will need to vary depending on the disassembly crane location; when the disassembly crane is on Mt. Vernon access will be from the South Avenue side. When the disassembly crane is on site, access will be from Mt. Vernon through our current entrance for safety.

Mt. Vernon is now closed to through traffic with all detours posted. Unfortunately, due to weather, the disassembly crane will not be able to be set up until Saturday. Contractors are currently trying to thaw out both cranes and the roadway. There will be tractor trailer set up on Mt. Vernon loading out crane components, similar to when the crane was set up.

Site access for construction will need to vary depending on the disassembly crane location. When the disassembly crane is on Mt. Vernon, access will be from South Avenue side. When the disassembly crane is on site, access will be from Mt. Vernon for safety.

Crews will be on site this Saturday 2/25 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. installing panels and possibly disassembling the tower crane, depending on weather.

During the week, crews continue to finish drywall and mechanical installations inside the building. Outside, window, exterior siding, and roofing installation continues on various elevations.

Crews are anticipating bringing the site work up to grade shortly to allow for settlement since we cannot utilize vibratory compaction. This will generate minimal vibrations due to bulldozer movement, static roller and dump truck tailgates closing, more to come as this work gets closer.
