SMD Faculty Professionalism Council
Mark Taubman, MD, Emeritus Dean and CEO, led efforts to further define and implement our shared values, and to reinforce our commitment to fostering an environment where all faculty, staff, and trainees feel valued, respected, and safe. This led to several URMC initiatives, including the establishment of the SMD Faculty Professionalism Council (FPC) as advisory to the Dean.
The purpose of the SMD FPC is to promulgate professionalism among SMD faculty members by building and supporting a culture of professionalism. The FPC also has helped centralize and standardize reporting and, when necessary, works with department chairs and other faculty leaders regarding remediation processes.
